Mumbai, Sep 4 (ANI): Twelve people, including children, were killed and 13 others injured in a landslide in Mumbai on Friday morning.

Mumbai, Aug.22 (ANI): A local court here on Saturday granted bail to Mumbai-based TV actress Urvashi Dhanorkar, who has been booked under the Juvenile Justice Act and the Child Labour Act, for allegedly physically abusing her 10-year-old housemaid Rameshwari.
She was produced before the Bandra Holiday Court.
Dhanorkar’s lawyer, Nitin S. Satpute, contended the black marks and swelling on the child’s face were created by bee stings and the burn scars on her forearms were caused by boiling water fallen on her.
“Under the Juvenile Act, my client was arrested. She was produced in the court. Police asked for her remand but the court rejected the police plea and granted her judicial custody. Later, the court granted her bail,” said Satpute.
The actress was arrested on Saturday morning after medical reports confirmed that Rameshwari was physically abused.
Rameshwari was allegedly punched in her eye and was left with black and bruised marks, besides burns on her forearms.
The girl was rescued by her neighbours on Friday (Aug 21) night, when she was playing the children of her employer in the garden.
“When I saw this child her hands were burnt, eyes were red. She was scared. Residents gathered and took her to hospital. After examining, the doctor said it was marks of beating up. Secondly, according to the child labour (laws), hiring any child as a domestic help is a crime. We phoned police and it came for our help,” said Bindu Bhosle, Chairperson of Mahan Shakti a Non-Government Organisation (NGO) and neighbour of Rameshwari. (ANI)

Kuala Lumpur, Aug.19 (ANI): An Islamic court has ordered the caning of a Muslim part-time model after she admitted to drinking beer in ahotel night club.
Kartika Sari Dewi Shukarno was also fined 5,000 ringgit (856 dollars) for her offence, Sky News reports.
Shukarno, 32, was caught consuming alcohol when police raided a hotel nightclub in Pahang state last year.
She pleaded guilty and has been sentenced to six lashes with a rattan cane.
The Islamic court said the punishment must take place within seven days from next Monday.
Kartika will be held in a women’s prison until then and afterwards released “as soon possible”, prosecutor Saiful Idham Sahimi said.
Caning is administered on the buttocks and usually breaks the skin leaving permanent scars.
But a lighter cane than the one used on men will be used on Kartika with the purpose to “educate” rather than punish, Saiful said.
“This is the first case in Malaysia. It is a good punishment because under Islamic law a person who drinks commits a serious offense,” he said.
Kartika has said she wants to be caned quickly so she can get on with her life with her husband and children. (ANI)

New Delhi, Aug 17 (ANI): Union Home Minister P.Chidambaram on Monday said the Central Government is considering to set up Regional Intelligence Centres (RIC) to train personnel in intelligence gathering and analysis.
Chidambaram was addressing the concluding session of a daylong chief ministers conference on internal security in the national capital on Monday.
“While some States have set up a separate intelligence cadre, there are inadequate training facilities for intelligence gathering and intelligence analysis. The Central Government may consider setting up Regional Intelligence Centres to train State intelligence personnel in intelligence gathering and intelligence analysis,” Chidambaram said.
Chidambaram informed that only 12 State Governments and Union Territories have sent their responses to the questionnaire sent by the Union Home Ministry asking about the preparation of the states for this conference. He asked the others states to respond quickly so that the Centre could facilitate the formulation of policy, the allocation of funds and the monitoring of progress to strengthen the internal security system.
The Home Minister said to quicken the procurement of weapons; the Central Government might consider central procurement of weapons on behalf of the States.
He expressed concern over the large-scale vacant positions in all ranks of the police forces and asked the states to speed up the recruitment process.
Chidambaram urged chief ministers to find a more effective instrument to expedite the infrastructure building programmes, both in border areas as well as in naxal affected areas.
Noting the communal situation in the states Chidambaram said, “…there is a vast improvement in the situation. There are still pockets of strife and disharmony. If numbers can tell a story – or at least point to trends, it appears that five States are rather sensitive. I intend to write to the Chief Ministers of these five States and request them to pay special attention to this matter.”
Chidambaram stressed on reviewing and improving the surrender-cum-rehabilitation policy so as to make it more attractive than it presently is.
Chidambaram said, the Centre might consider imparting territorial army training for a period of four months to fishermen during the off season and these trained fishermen could be kept as reserve and summoned in case of need.
“Since the supply of high speed interceptor boats from the two ship building yards is limited, the Central Government may consider importing such boats,” Chidambaram said.
Chidambaram asked the states to strengthen the security in the places of historical importance, heritage sites, places of religious worship, iconic establishments, etc.
The executive orders are as effective and enforceable as legislation as long as they do not interfere with the fundamental rights of any person, Chidambaram said.
Chidambaram urged the states to form Police Establishment Board so as to have better co-ordination with the forces. “I urge States that have not yet established a Police Establishment Board to do so immediately. The Board will, in no way, diminish the authority of the Chief Minister or the Home Minister, on the contrary, it will greatly help the Chief Minister and the Home Minister in conveying the message of fairness and non-discrimination, and they can always intervene in exceptional situations,”Chidambaram said. Brisbane, Aug. 14 (ANI): A lawyer for erstwhile Indian-born terror suspect, Mohamed Haneef, has slammed the proposed changes in Australia’s anti-terror laws.
The Australian quoted Stephen Keim SC, as saying that the changes announced this week by Attorney-General Robert McClelland were “ad hoc” and fell short of the comprehensive overhaul needed to perfect the laws.
Keim specially criticized a provision that would impose a cap on the amount of time police could detain a terror suspect without charge.
Currently police have 20 hours to interview a suspect but can apply for downtime to pursue their investigations, potentially allowing for an open-ended period of detention.
“The government and those who advised them on these matters have not really thought through what they’re dealing with,” he said.
The Brisbane-based barrister also expressed reservations about plans to expand the definition of a terrorist act to include “psychological” as well as physical harm.
“This is not the major review of the terrorist laws that everybody says needs to happen. One of the major problems with the terrorist laws is that you have a broadly defined definition of terrorism and this makes it worse,” he said.
However, the man who drafted the existing suite of laws, former attorney-general Philip Ruddock indicated in-principle support for the Rudd government’s changes.
“I always saw counter-terrorist laws as an unfinished canvas. The reason for questioning detention was to ensure that a person would be available for questioning in terrorist offences rather than going to ground,” Ruddock said.
Ruddock said that existing laws protected detainees by requiring the police to provide justification for keeping them in custody.
“In the Haneef matter it was the subject of continuing judicial review and in the end the magistrate decided that the police had had sufficient time. It seems to me that the protection was there,” he added. (ANI)

Tottenham, Aug 14 (ANI): Tottenham Hotspur striker Jermain Defoe is suing the police claiming that he was “unlawfully” stopped in his Range Rover and held for several hours at a police station in Harlow, Essex. The claim arises out of Defoe’s wrongful arrest for driving whilst disqualified last month,” The Sky News quoted Nick Freeman, Defoe’s solicitor, as saying.
“At the time the police were advised by Defoe, and on no less than five occasions by my office, that Defoe was not disqualified and that his detention was unlawful,” he added.
Freeman further said that Defoe had to face lots of trouble following his arrest and accused the police of misplacing his car.
“Instead, in addition to being locked in a cell, the police were unable to recall where his car had been impounded and were not prepared to return his car keys (which also contained house keys) until he produced documentation to his vehicle,” he added.
Freeman also said that the claim was not for money, but for principle and any damages awarded to Defoe would be donated to charity.
Meanwhile, Essex Police has apologised for the issue, and informed that an official investigation is being carried out to sort of the mistake.
“We’ve formally apologised, acknowledging our mistake, which was due to an inputting error. An internal investigation is under way to determine why this error occurred and to ensure that a similar mistake is not repeated in the future,” an Essex Police spokesman said. (ANI)

Islamabad, Aug 13 (ANI): An 80-year-old woman in Pakistan was allegedly raped by a 70-year-old ‘hakeem’ in his clinic after he intoxicated her.
The elderly woman registered an FIR against the accused Ahmed Din and Kot Lakhpat police arrested him on her complaint, charging him with rape, unnatural offence and intoxication, reports the Daily Times.
The complainant, Fateh Bibi, in her application submitted stated that she went to Ashraf Dawakhana in Awami Colony for medicine for her headache.
She said the hakeem gave her some medicine and advised her to take it right then, saying that it would relieve her of pain immediately.
Fateh alleged that after taking the medicine, she fell unconscious and the hakeem tied her up and undressed her.
She said the accused raped and sodomised her. She requested the police to take action against the accused for raping her and hurting her by giving her a poisonous substance.
Kot Lakhpat Police Station House Officer (SHO) Farooq Ahmed said the police had registered an FIR against the hakeem and arrested him. He said the medical examination of the woman had proved the allegations.
He said above all, the accused had confessed his crime. The police would produce him in the court today (Thursday) to get his physical remand. He said police were interrogating the accused, who had not confessed to any other crime yet.
He said the accused seemed to have committed such a crime for the first time.
Rana Muhammad Shabbir advocate said the offences mentioned in the FIR could amount to capital punishment.
He said if the offences were proved in the court, punishment for rape under Section 376 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) should be death or imprisonment for 25 years and should also be liable to fine.
He said punishment for committing unnatural offence under Section 377 of the PPC was life imprisonment and should be liable to fine.
Punishment for hurting someone by means of poison under Section 337-J of the PPC was imprisonment up to 10 years, he added. (ANI)

Rayagada (Orissa), Aug 10 (ANI): Maoists killed two people in Orissa’s Rayagada district suspecting them to be police informers.
Ashish Kumar Singh, superintendent of police, Rayagada district said that the Maoist were terrorising people fearing that their support among the masses was eroding.
“They are creating panic in the people by committing such types of offences by killing civilians or common people to terrorise them. Actually earlier they were not getting the proper support from the people and they are thinking that if they commit such type of violent action against the civilians then due to the fear the people will support them,” said Singh.
The Maoists have increasingly spread out of their rural eastern strongholds and are active in nearly a third of the country’s 630 districts, up from a presence in less than a tenth of them in 2001, government and independent data shows.
Maoist rebels say they are fighting for the rights of poor farmers and the disenfranchised. The rebels regularly attack railway lines and factories, aiming to cripple economic activity. (ANI)

Child star Rubina Ali may have gained an overnight stardom with Oscar winner SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE, but 9 year-old slum kid isn’t having the best of the times as it should have been. Infact the girl is trapped in a new dilemma.
If the current reports are to be believed than it is being stated that British tabloids have accused the father of Rubina Ali of allegedly trying to sell her off for a whopping sum of Rs 20 million. The tabloids claim to have done a sting operation against the father. In a bid to escape poverty and life in the slum father Rafiq Qureshi and an uncle had put Rubina up for adoption to the tabloid’s undercover reporters posing as a wealthy family from Saudi Arabia. However Rafiq denied the claim and said that he had gone to meet an Arabian sheikh to discuss about an ad film and had no plans to sell off his daughter.
Reportedly Rubina’s real mother Khurshid, who separated from her husband eight years ago, claimed that Rubina’s future is in danger if she remains with Rafiq. She even approached the police for that matter. The other day Khurshid arrived at Bandra’s Gharib Nagar slums where Rubina lives, and abused everyone. She tried to attack Rubina’s stepmum Munni, but others intervened. Meanwhile, Rafiq’s relatives arrived and tried to convince the media how loving a father Rafiq was and why Rubina should live only with him. Later the police recorded the statements of Khurshid, Rafiq and Rubina.
It is being said that Rubina’s statement did not match with that of Rafiq’s. While on camera she maintained her father’s statement. But off camera she held that when her father asked if she would like to go to Saudi Arabia she was quite gung-ho about it. And all set to go to Saudi.
Well all we can say is that Rubina’s life is not as ordinary as that of slum kid anymore.

Lucknow, April 19 (IANS) Nine-year-old Chandan Singh was an avid watcher of MTV’s reality show ‘Roadies’ and never missed an episode. But Saturday night’s episode was to be his last. The boy hanged himself accidentally while imitating a stunt on the show.
Chandan, a Class 3 student, had watched the episode where two female contestants, Palak and Phalguni, were made to stand on a wooden stool with their hands tied. A rope was also placed around their neck. Another semi-finalist, Noman, was then given three minutes to save one of them.
‘He watched the episode on the third floor of our house along with his friends and tried to imitate the stunt after his friends left. After hearing a loud noise, I rushed to the room and found Chandan hanging from the ceiling fan,’ his uncle Bhagat Singh told media persons.
Inspector Jaganath Saroj of Vikas Nagar police station said: ‘According to his uncle, Bhagat Singh, with whom he used to live in the Vikas Nagar locality, Chandan never missed any episode of the show.’
Chandan was taken to a nearby hospital but was declared dead by the doctors.
‘The incident was reported to us Sunday morning and the body has been sent for post-mortem,’ Saroj added.

Thiruvananthapuram, April 18 (IANS) In a sign of fresh trouble for the Malayalam film industry, nearly 300 members of a technician’s body disrupted a film shoot in Palakkad in Kerala protesting the attitude of leading stars Mammootty and Dileep.
Members of Federation of Malayalam Cine Technicians Association (MACTA) disrupted the shooting of ‘Bodyguard’, which stars Dileep, and had a scuffle with crew members leading to the police stopping the shoot.
Trouble first broke out early last year when Dileep refused to act in a film by Thulasidas, following a string of flops by the director. The dispute remains unresolved and the MACTA has accused both Mammotty and Dileep of trying to scuttle the future of the body.
Last year MACTA, comprising 19 different associations of the Malayalam film industry, split with the big names in the industry floating Film Employees Federation of Kerala (FEFKA).
While MACTA is being led by director Vinayan and has a huge membership base, the FEFKA includes most of the big time directors like Joshi, I.V. Sasi, Siddique, Lal, Sathyan Anthicad, Renjith, Renji Panicker.
While FEFKA has the full blessings of the most influential Malayalam film body Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA), the MACTA is now affiliated with the Communist Party of India.
Meanwhile, Thulasidas said that a protest of this nature was not acceptable.
‘A protest in a shooting location is not acceptable because it really would hamper the work of actors and the director. They have to work in a totally stress-free atmosphere. This is not good,’ Thulasidas told reporters here.

Film: ‘Yagna’; Director: Krishna Brahma; Cast: Sree Murali, Priyanka, Om Prakash Rao, Jayaprakash Reddy, M.S. Narayan and L.B. Sreeram; Music: Murali Krishna; Rating: *
‘Yagna’ was publicized as an action-oriented horror film, but it ends up as a horror of horrors. This Kannada film is illogical and uninspiring and seems to have gone terribly wrong in every department.
Two things become apparently clear after seeing director Krishna Brahma’s ‘Yagna’ – firstly a talented actor like Sree Murali, who had a great beginning with a film like ‘Chandra Chakori’, seems to have perfected the art of choosing wrong subjects. And secondly, Krishna Brahma needs to brush up his narratorial skills.
‘Yagna’ lacks freshness and its narration is pedestrian. Producer Shankar has taken the storyline from actor Charmmee’s successful Telugu film ‘Manthra’, which released just a year ago. Krishna has just made some cosmetic changes to present his own version of ‘Manthra’.
To make the project economically viable, producer Shankar has included many Telugu artists like Jayaprakash Reddy, Venu Madhav, M.S. Narayan and L.B. Sriram.
Krishna Brahma repeats the same old stereotypes associated with almost every other horror flick – door locks being opened, curtains oscillating, antique objects shown in different angles – and nothing of these gimmicks take you to the edge of your seat.
And many sequences of the film are predictable. The film comes into life just before the climax, but the director has floundered in this as well.
The film is about Anji, a carefree youngster who works for a city-based don. Known to be a daredevil, Anji is sent to a haunted house by the don, who wants to usurp the property. Anji goes into the cursed house with his friends and is witness to the weird goings-on in the house.
In the meanwhile, Yagna, a music student,, comes to the house along with her friends on a project. But a murder in the house forces Anji and Yagna’s friends to leave the house.
As the story progresses, Yagna declares her love for Anji and wants to marry him. She also reveals that she is the legal heir of the disputed property.
But Anji goes ahead with his investigations into the murder and it is later revealed that he is actually a police officer.
Sree Murali may have to refuse projects like ‘Yagna’ now onwards. He is good in action sequences, but his efforts are wasted because of the poor narrative. Debutant actress Priyanka indulges in a lot of skin show in the song sequences.
The so-called comedy by Om Prakash Rao and a galaxy of Telugu artists are in poor taste.
Krishna Brahma has also failed to bring the best out of the technicians. Music director Murali Krishna, who gave a few good tunes in his first film ‘Neene Neene’, has fumbled in his compositions. Nothing special can be written about Niranjan Babu’s camera work either.
‘Yagna’ is an ordinary film. It may not be liked even by fans of the horror genre.

Police have arrested 12 men in parallel raids in Manchester, Liverpool and Clitheroe in Lancashire.
Witnesses in Cheetham Hill, Manchester, described what they saw.
One woman who lives next door to a terraced house where two men were arrested said she saw a man being hauled down the street by officers.
Bushra Majid, 33, a housewife, said: “I opened the door and four or five policemen were on top of a man. They were dragging him along the street and he had no shoes on.
“They shouted at me, ‘Get inside. Get inside’. There was a policeman on each corner of the street. They were dressed in black and had machine guns.
“I heard lots of noise inside the house, like people running up and down the stairs.”
The mother-of-four said the house next door was rented and there were always people coming and going.
“There were about six or seven men living there for the last six months.
“Some were aged 45 to 50, others were aged in their 20s. They used to go to the local al Falah mosque daily.”
Witnesses at Liverpool John Moores University said two Asian men in their mid to late-20s were held by armed police outside the main library on Maryland Street.
They described how the suspects were stopped as they walked past the main entrance and ordered to lie on the ground.
Students were held inside the library for up to 30 minutes as the two men were searched by officers before being taken away.
Craig Ahmed, 24, a business student from Maghull, Merseyside, said: “Suddenly there was all shouting and commotion outside so I went to the window and saw about eight police officers.
“One of them was armed and was pointing his gun at two men who were ordered to lie face down on the ground. “For about half an hour they held the men on the floor. The police were shouting things at them but I couldn’t hear what was being said.
“They looked like students, one was wearing tracksuit bottoms and a hooded top and the other had a Puffa-style jacket on.
“The library Tannoy came on telling everybody inside to stay away from the windows and not to go outside.
“They said it was for our own safety and people inside were getting quite stressed about it. There was talk that they had a bomb and it spread like wildfire around the building.
“After some time the police then searched a satchel belonging to one of the men and a carrier bag belonging to the other one. The two men were then searched as they were on the ground and cuffed and taken away.”
In Clitheroe, Lancashire, up to 100 officers swooped on the Homebase store and arrested two security guards as stunned work colleagues looked on.
Police simultaneously raided the nearby Brooklyn Guest House in Pimlico Road where the two men were staying.
An eyewitness said: “About 50 vehicles filled the car park and the police stormed in and quickly brought the two men out.
“They seemed to know who they were looking for. It looked a well planned operation.”
Adam Howard, who lives opposite the guest house in Pimlico Road, said he was shocked at the arrests.
He said: “I saw about 15 officers go in the front and the back of the house. It was a bit of a shock. You don’t expect this to happen in a market town.”

The nine-year-old was released from Doncaster Royal Infirmary overnight after undergoing two operations on his injured arm.
His 11-year-old friend and uncle is still recovering in the hospital following the incident in the former pit village of Edlington, near Doncaster, South Yorkshire, on Saturday.
Two young brothers, aged 10 and 11, appeared at Doncaster Youth Court on Tuesday accused of their attempted murder.
A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: “The 11-year-old boy is still recovering in Doncaster Royal Infirmary after he was transferred from Sheffield Children’s Hospital on Tuesday.
“The nine-year-old boy was released from hospital overnight. Times and dates to interview the victims have yet to be decided.”
The father of the 11-year-old said that his son was too bruised to be hugged and was so traumatised by his ordeal that he cried when he saw an unfamiliar face.
He told the Daily Mirror: “We’ve been giving him loads of hugs and love. But there are only so many hugs you can give him as the poor lad is bruised to death. If you tap him on the shoulder he groans in pain.
“He’s still not eating or drinking very well. But he’s healing and doing a lot better and we’re over the moon. It could have been so much worse.”
Police were called at 2pm on Saturday when the nine-year-old boy was found wandering, covered in blood, in Auburn Road. The youngster told the people who found him where to find his uncle, who was discovered unconscious in a nearby wooded ravine.

Police made the discovery at a property in Penwortham, near Preston, shortly before 9am.
A police spokesperson said the arrest was not linked to Wednesday’s raids by the North West Counter Terrorism Unit.
In a statement, Lancashire Police said: “Officers attended a property in Woodville Road, Penwortham, shortly before 9am.
“A 37-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to steal relating to an incident in Chorley on April 7.
“However, during searches of the property police discovered suspicious articles which included components which could be used to make explosive devices.”
Detective Inspector Steven Chard, who is leading the investigation, added: “The Army Bomb Disposal Unit has visited the scene and made the articles safe. A small number of people were evacuated in nearby properties however they have now been able to return to their homes.
“I would like to reassure residents living in the immediate area of the property that there is no threat to their safety and they are now able to come and go from their homes as usual.
“I would also like to stress that this arrest is not linked to the counter terrorism arrests made in the North West yesterday. The 37-year-old man has now been arrested in relation to explosives offences and the matter is being treated as a criminal investigation.
“Searches will be conducted at the address throughout the remainder of the day and we are in the process of further examining the articles.”

Jakarta/Jayapura, Indonesia – Indonesians went to the polls Thursday for parliamentary elections amid concerns of logistical problems and alleged widespread fraudulent voter lists.
Voting began at 7 am (2200 GMT Wednesday) in Indonesia’s easternmost province of Papua in the sprawling archipelago nation of more than 17,000 islands spanning three time zones.
Hours before polls opened, violence hit Papua, home to a low-level separatist insurgency, leaving one person dead, Papuan police chief Bagus Eko Danto said.
Dozens of people armed with sickles, arrows and petrol bombs attacked police stations on the outskirts of the region’s main town, Jayapura, causing police to open fire, killing one person, he said.
The police chief denied reports that six people were killed in the attacks.
More than 171 million of Indonesia’s more than 230 million people were eligible to vote in Thursday’s polls, the third general election since the 1998 downfall of autocrat Suharto, which ushered in an era of democratic reform.
At stake are 18,560 seats in national, provincial and district parliaments and 132 seats on the regional representatives council.
Thirty-eight political parties are contesting the polls, and six parties are fighting for seats in provincial and district councils in Aceh province.
The results from the polls will determine who can field a presidential candidate in a July election. A run-off would be held in September if no ticket wins a clear majority in that vote’s first round.
An official tally from Thursday’s voting would not be issued for a month, but results from so-called quick counts conducted by survey institutions based on samples of votes from polling stations were expected late Thursday.
Quick counts have been accurate in predicting winners of past elections.
Surveys indicated that President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono’s Democratic Party would win the most votes at more than 20 per cent.
Yudhoyono himself is a hands-on favourite to win the presidential election with his popularity rating above 60 per cent.
Indonesia’s General Elections Commission has come under fire for failing to handle the logistics better in the complicated polling process.
Observers cited serious problems, including slow delivery of ballot papers and troubled voter lists, and there were concerns the ballot sheet is so large that voters might be confused.
As part of electoral reforms, voters for the first time have to tick on the ballot paper the party or the candidate of their choice, or both.
Under the age-old elections system, voters punched a hole on the symbol of the party of their choice, and it was the party who nominated legislative candidates.
“I voted only the party,” said Rokayah, 62, who cast her ballot at a polling station in central Jakarta. “I didn’t choose any of the candidates because there are too many. I was confused and afraid I would make a mistake.”
Rokayah, who like many Indonesians uses only one name, said she voted for the Democratic Party.
Yudhoyono expressed optimism that the legislative elections would run without trouble, citing the smooth preparations ahead of the polling day.
Yudhoyono’s government has been credited with stabilizing the economy, improving security after a spate of deadly bombings blamed on Islamic militants and an aggressive campaign against corruption, seen as endemic as a result of Suharto’s iron-fisted rule.
While acknowledging that the polls might need to be postponed in some remote areas of the archipelago, the election commission insisted the vast majority of around 530,000 polling stations nationwide were ready for voters four days ahead of election day. (dpa)

Jakarta – A light airplane crashed Thursday morning in Indonesia’s easternmost province of Papua, and all four of its crew members were feared killed, news reports and officials said.
The Avia Star aircraft was en route from the capital Jayapura to Wamena district, carrying cargo and four crew members. It crashed at about 7 am (2200 GMT Wednesday) on Pike Mountain, said Papua police chief Bagus Eko Danto.
Bagus told Elshinta private radio that so far two bodies had been founded and a search was underway for the other two. He said the plane broke into pieces.
The cause of the accident was not immediately known.
It was the second fatal air crash this week in Indonesia. On Monday, a Fokker F-27 belonging to the Indonesian Air Force crashed in West Java’s Bandung airport, killing all 24 people on board. (dpa)
