New Delhi, Feb 20 (ANI): ‘The O.C.’ star Mischa Barton has revealed that Pilates is the secret behind her slim frame.
She said: “For me, it’s all about Pilates recently. I’m obsessed with Pilates. I think it’s so fun.”
The 23-year-old actress had recently sparked concerns for her health after displaying an increasingly thin physique, reports the China Daily.
Mischa hit out at critics of her weight loss, insisting she has never embarked on faddy diets or extreme exercise regimes.
She added to America’s OK! magazine: “I don’t do any crash diets. There’s nothing that I really do like that, because I’m always working. I mean, before I go do a film, I do workout more. I do get ready for a film and try to be healthy and in shape. And when I’m not working, I do less of it.
“I do more cardio because I work long hours. Jogging, running – tuff like that’s really good before you do a film so you have more energy.” (ANI)

Washington, Feb 18 (ANI): British actress Kate Winslet credits her toned physique to “a wing and a prayer”, insisting she’s “too busy” to even think about exercising.
The Oscar nominee, who has struggled with weight since she was a teenager, insists she hasn’t been slimming down for the big ceremony.
When asked if she was dieting, Winslet said, “N.O. (I) absolutely do not. I’m very sort of relaxed and vocal about these things. I have not done a stitch of exercise since October. I literally have not had the time.”
“I’m just going to eat normally, I’m not going to make cuts.
“If I’m keeping it together it’s by a wing and a prayer. I just want to enjoy this,” she added.
The 33-year-old actress is winning accolades for her role in The Reader, and is tipped to win the Best actress at the Oscars.
She has already scooped two awards in Golden Globes and walked away with Best actress gong at the Baftas. (ANI)

New Delhi, Feb 16 (ANI): Reese Witherspoon has admitted that she’s keen to star in an action film.
The 32-year-old actress says that would love to follow in the footsteps of Angelina Jolie and become an action hero, reports the China Daily.
Witherspoon also said that she doesn’t mind working out to get the right physique for the part.
“I would like to do an action movie. I love to watch Angelina Jolie in movies like ‘Mr. and Mrs. Smith’,” she said.
“I think movies where women have great strength and character are interesting. I’m dying to do one,” she added.
The Oscar-winning actress recently revealed that her nine-year-old daughter Ava gets embarrassed by her mother’s singing.
“I love to sing around the house and in the car, but my daughter hates it. She said, ‘Mom I really appreciate you taking me to the concert, but will you please not embarrass me in front of Carrie Underwood by singing because she’s a real singer and you’re just, like a movie singer,’ ” she said. Washington, Jan 14 (ANI): Mickey Rourke has slammed media reports suggesting he took steroids to get in shape for his new film ‘The Wrestler’.
The ‘Sin City’ actor has insisted that the media has exaggerated the comments he made in a magazine interview.
In a recent interview with U.S. magazine Men’s Journal, the Golden Globe winner hinted that he’d taken steroids to bulk up for his role as battered fighter Randy ‘The Ram’ Robinson in the film.
In the interview, the 52-year-old actor was asked if he took steroids.
“When I’m a wrestler, I behave like a wrestler,” Contactmusic quoted the star as replying.
However, Rourke has now claimed that he didn’t use growth hormones or controversial sports drugs to enhance his physique.
He said: “I did some stuff. You wouldn’t classify it as steroids, but I did some heavy duty supplements… but not the regular stuff.” (ANI)

Washington, Feb 13 (ANI): Tori Spelling has blamed Hollywood for her well-publicized gaunt appearance, insisting she feels under constant pressure to stay skinny.
The star shocked fans by stepping out in Los Angeles this month sporting a new super-skinny, waif-like physique.
And Spelling admits she was driven to diet obsessively by Tinseltown’s trend to be slim.
“They scrutinize you so much. You try to be the person who says, ‘Oh, I don’t care,’ but I feel the pressure,” Usmagazine.com quoted her, as saying.
“You’re out there; your picture is in every magazine. They’re looking at you from every angle, no matter what you do.
“You have to be careful getting out of cars now because they shoot up your skirt. Everything has to look good, and of course, there’s pressure to do so. I definitely feel it,” she added. (ANI)

Washington, Feb 3 (ANI): It seems socialite Kim Kardashian is busy these days working out to attain a toned physique.
The reality star took the audiences by storm in a form-fitting strapless beige dress while co-hosting Texas Energy’s Leather and Laces Super Bowl bender.
“Everyone has been saying that (I’ve lost weight). I don’t know why, haven’t been dancing that’s for sure,” Fox News quoted her as Tarts.
The 28-year-old star is busy working on bringing out her very own fitness video.
Meanwhile, Kardashian has decided to give up wearing fur for the sake of romance and friendship with her sister.
Kardashian was driven to get rid of her fur dresses when sister Khloe posed for animal welfare organization PETA, emphasizing on the slogan ”I’d Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur”. (ANI)

London, January 25 (ANI): ‘Fat’ is no longer restricted to the feminine domain, for it has entered the minds of men, and is making them turn to anabolic steroids, according to a shocking UK report.
Susie Orbach, the author of ‘Fat is a Feminist Issue’, argued the “body distress” that used to affect only a few, was now spreading at an alarming pace amongst young men, making it universal phenomenon.
“Eating problems and body distress now constitute an ordinary part of everyday life for many people and many families,” Times Online quoted her as saying.
“I am pained and disquieted by the homogeneous visual culture promoted by industries that depend on the breeding of body insecurity and which then create a beauty terror in so many people.
“There is a crisis about the body itself,” she added.
The British Government’s official advisers also observed that more and more men were driving themselves towards the use of anabolic steroids, prescription-only drugs, to improve their physique and up their confidence.
Les Iverson, the chairman of the technical committee of the Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs, had said: “There is a much wider use in the community of anabolic steroids by young men for cosmetic reasons and by security guards who feel the need to be big and strong to do their job.”(ANI)

Melbourne, Jan 24 (ANI): Golden girl Stephanie Rice has revealed that she is under a constant pressure to trim down after putting on few kilos during her post-Olympic break from the pool.
The 20-year-old swimmer, who won three gold medals at the Beijing Olympics last year, has been a subject of media criticism for showing off a less-toned physique.
In an interview to The Australian Women’s Weekly, Rice admits that she can never be as thin as model Miranda Kerr but still feels pressure to stay slim.
“It’s amazing how hugely the weight thing can play on your mind,” the Daily Telegraph quoted her as saying.
“I’ve definitely been through that, especially before I lost weight at around 16. I’ve never had an eating disorder, but I think every girl goes through a down time where they see women in magazines.
“I now know I will never be like Miranda Kerr – my body just won’t do that. It’s more about being healthy,” she added. (ANI)
