Shimla, Aug.19 (ANI): The Rashtriya Swayam Sewak Sangh (RSS), the parent body of the BJP, is maintaining its silence over the expulsion of Jawant Singh from the party.
But informed sources in the BJP told ANI that the RSS has played a behind the scene role in Jaswant’s exit.
In fact, before starting off for Shimla, BJP president Rajnath Singh met RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and discussed some of the recent acts of “indiscipline” committed by Jaswant Singh, including taking a diametrically opposing view to thearty line in his latest book-”Jinnah – India-Partition-Independence”.
Senior BJP leader and political adviser to Rajnath Singh Prabhat Jha told ANI over phone from Shimla that Jaswant Singh was expelled on grounds of indiscipline.
“We have lost ground in the elections. He was such a senior parliamentarian, a member of the core committee and parliament. He should have maintained discipline,” Jha said.
When asked whether the RSS had played a role in Singh expulsion, Jha said: “It is the decision of BJP.”
Earlier in the day, the BJP parliamentary board decided to axe Singh following the release of his book, which eulogises Jinnah and demeans Sardar Patel and Jawaharlal Nehru.
Singh had also annoyed the party when he objected to the appointment of L.K. Advani and Arun Jaitley as Leaders of Opposition in the lower and upper houses of parliament.
He distributed a note titled Inaam (prize) and Parinam (result)in the party core group meeting in which he reportedly also asked uncomfortable questions and also expressed disappointment over the elevation of junior leaders like Sushma Swaraj to the post of Deputy Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha.
Singh confirmed to reporters in SHimla today that he had distributed this paper. By Naveen Kapoor (ANI)

Mumbai, Aug 17(ANI): In an innovative method of film promotion star cast of ‘Life Partner’ on Monday opted to sell tickets of the film at the ticket counter of a theatre in Mumbai.
It was an unusual sight for the movie buffs, who noticed Fardeen Khan, Tushhar kapoor, Prachi Desai and Genelia D’souza selling tickets at the ticket counter for their movie at the Gaiety theatre.
Due to swine flu scare, the Maharashtra Government had declared closure of all the theatres and multiplexes for three days and the release of movies like ‘Life Partner’ and ‘Kaminey’ was postponed from the scheduled Friday to Monday.
‘Life Partner’ producer Abbas of the Abbas-Mastan duo said that although they would have incurred loses due to the deferred release, they were still hopeful of making profit.
“Whatever response we received today from the public, it seems although we cannot incur the losses we had in these three crucial days, but I am sure we will manage to recover slowly,” said Abbas.
As soon as the news spread, chaos prevailed at the ticket counters with the fans trying to catch a glimpse of these and buy tickets from them.
Tusshar Kapoor said that as their film received good collections in other cities, they wanted the same from Mumbai.
“It has been written in the history of Bollywood that if the film is reported as flop, then even if Saturday is a major holiday, people will never go to watch it. The collections of our film almost tripled in few cities after it released. That is why we are here so that people of Mumbai can make our film equally successful like other cities,” said Tusshar Kapoor.
Scripted and Directed by Rumy Jaffery it is a romantic comedy and has Govinda in the lead. It is the story of two couples struggling with their life partners and lovers. (ANI)

Mumbai, April 24 (IANS) Anjana Sukhani says she is game for bikinis if her role really demands it. Though she has adopted a glamorous persona in films like ‘Golmaal Returns’ and ‘Salaam-E-Ishq’, the actress is yet to join the bikini brigade.
‘It’s not in my wish list either. However, there comes a point in your career where you get a film that requires you to shed your inhibitions. Of course, the role that I play has to be of utmost importance – if it is justified for the character to wear a bikini, then I won’t fret about it,’ Anjana told IANS.
Skin show has taken a different dimension in the last few months with actresses like Kareena Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Minissha Lamba and Amisha Patel getting into the swim wear for their roles. Also with dozens of film and fashion magazines hitting the stands, actresses are making a bee line to be seen on the cover.
‘I’m very sure about the fact that posing seductively for the camera doesn’t really pay. It can’t help you grab work. What eventually matters is how talented you are and whether you can deliver goods on the screen,’ said the actress who had grabbed attention in the Cadbury ad with superstar Amitabh Bachchan.
But being in the glamour world where beauty sells, isn’t that a dicey statement to make?
‘Of course, looking pretty is a valuable thing, but then talent matters as well’, said Anjana. ‘At the end of the day, it is about coming up with a balancing act. Being ‘just pretty’ or ‘just talented’ doesn’t help because one of them working just in isolation can’t take you anywhere. You have to have a good mix of both.’
‘My dad has always said that you should do things that reflect the goal that you want to ultimately meet. If a small step taken by me helps me get closer to that goal, I won’t mind doing that as long as I don’t cross any limits,’ she added.
In that case, how does she look back at her first few steps when she had just started her career with films like ‘Humdum’ (2005) and ‘Sun Zarra’ (2006)?
‘I continue to be emotionally attached to these films because those earlier steps reaffirmed that I existed and paved the way for me to appear in bigger and better films. I didn’t come from a filmy family; nor did I have any supermodel experience that could help me get work. Those were testing times and everything that I decided to do, I had to do it on my own without any godfather supporting me.’
With ‘Jashn’, ‘Tum Milo toh Sahi’ and ‘Allah Ke Banday’ in the pipeline, life is certainly looking up for Anjana.
‘Certainly. I am glad that these are turning out to be good times. I stand by all my decisions in the past and, regardless of whether they have succeeded or failed, I have no regrets,’ she said.

It seems soap queen Ekta kapoor has found a new way of keeping herself busy after all her long running Saas-Bahu sagas ran out of plot.
Now, we hear Ekta’a favorite company these days are the social networking sites through which she tries to boost the sagging morale of her ex-Balaji actors, who have been left high and dry after Balaji pulled the plug on the majority of its shows.
We also hear that Ekta’s plan of buying her own channel has hit the roadblock for now the one time queen of the small screen is just busy discovering the joys of the virtual world.
Well, all we hope is that Ekta’s new addiction helps her spun a fresh narrative to hit back at her critics.

Onlookers in the crowded Lajpat Nagar market in New Delhi was amazed when they realized that none other than Rishi Kapoor was shopping amidst them. To their amusement, the veteran actor wasn’t visiting premium shops and was instead hunting for clothes that carried a dirt cheap price tag on them. Though Delhites were left clueless about the reason behind Rishi Kapoor saving money during shopping, there is a tale attached to this.
The actual reason behind this was that Rishi Kapoor was in the city shooting for his next film DO DOONI CHAAR in which he plays a middle class Mathematics teacher. For this role of his, he didn’t want anything fancy that could potentially go against his character. Hence, to lend a realistic feel, he wanted the clothing to match his character’s persons. In quick time, he himself stepped out on the streets of Lajpat Nagar, one of the busiest markets in Delhi for middle class ‘junta’, and picked up a few clothes for himself.
Confirms Rishi Kapoor who has just finished a marathon shooting schedule for the film, ”I set a clear mandate for me that my clothes won’t be costly at all for DO DOONI CHAAR. What was the point in doing so? How can you make a professor wear expensive clothes when he is barely surviving in his middle class bearings? This is why I thought of going out in the market and pick things up myself from the stands. I made sure that my sweaters and pajamas cost not more than Rs. 200.”
Neetu Singh, who makes a comeback to the film industry with DO DOONI CHAAR and is seen as Rishi Kapoor’s wife in the film also, has a similar tale to tell. ”Even though it is my comeback film, I wasn’t tempted to don a glamorous persona. My wardrobe throughout the film’s duration has also been kept very simple and true to the requirement of the Punjabi housewife character that I play.”

His debut venture KAL KISSNE DEKHA is yet to be released but Jackky Bhagnani has already started working on his next film. To be kick started after the release of his first film which is being pitched as a ‘romantic musical thriller’, Jackky’s next film will belong to the same genre (romantic musical comedy) as JAANE TU YA JAANE NAA and warrant a similar characterization and narrative.
The film would yet again be produced by his father Vashu Bhagnani and initial work on casting has already begun.
Says a source from the production team, ”Jackky has just started off as a lead hero and he wants to work in films that are young and energetic. Moreover, he wants to be looked as someone who belongs to the youth and is one of them. He doesn’t want to distance himself from his target audience i.e. youth by being aloof and unapproachable.”
This is the reason why a worldwide contest has been launched where youngsters can approach the production house and get lucky by being selected in the project.
Confirms the man of the moment, Jackky Bhagnani, ”Yes, we are launching our next film on a big scale. It will be having all the ingredients of a young entertainer and will be on the lines of JAANE TU YA JAANE NAA. I loved the film for its simplicity. Also, the very fact that each of the characters in the film was so identifiable and real is what makes me love it even more.”
There is good news for at least five newcomers as the film is looking at introducing three boys and two girls (all Indian though) from across the world. Jackky will of course head the cast while the leading lady opposite him is yet to be finalized.
Considering the fact that JAANE TU YA JAANE NAA was not just centered on Imran Khan and Genelia D’Souza but a horde of other friends as well, how much of opportunity can youngsters expect in Jackky’s film?
”At least the same if not more”, promptly says Jackky, ”Yet again, each of these five youngsters will also be an important part of the film. The focus will definitely not just be on me. We are looking at a wide scale search for these young newcomers.”
Vaishali Desai is the leading lady who makes her debut with KAL KISSNE DEKHA that also stars veteran actor Rishi Kapoor. Incidentally, the campus setting warrants a horde of youngsters in this film as well like Akshay Kapoor, Bhairavi Goswami, Kunal Kumar, Rachna Shah and Nushrat Bharucha.

Mumbai, April 21 (IANS) He is known for making designer films, but Karan Johar recently shot some key sequences of his ‘My Name Is Khan’ in a slum here with ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ kid Tanay Cheda.
Karan said Tanay, who played the ‘middle’ Jamal in the multiple Oscar-winning film, made Shah Rukh Khan’s childhood look convincing for the film.
The director chose him to play young Shah Rukh because of not only his facial likeness to the star but also Tanay’s instant connectivity with the Mumbai slums and thereafter the Western audience.
‘Tanay is exceptionally talented. He was able to imbibe Shah Rukh’s character traits and use them to make SRK’s childhood look convincing,’ said Karan.
The scenes with Tanay were shot in Borivali along with actress Zarina Wahab, who plays Shah Rukh’s mother in the movie. The director now intends to cast Tanay as junior SRK whenever required, much in the way that Master Mayur played the young Amitabh Bachchan in a series of films.
Though the take-off point for ‘My Name Is Khan’ is 9/11, not a single shot is taken in New York. The film is set in Los Angeles and San Francisco – two of the most expensive cities in the US for shooting.
While Karan Johar’s production of Rensil de Silva’s Kareena Kapoor-Saif Ali Khan film on terrorism will have Philadelphia masquerading as New York, his own directorial take on terrorism and the isolation of the working-class Muslim has gone to two US cities.
Karan shot in LA earlier this year and leaves for San Francisco in May for a 40-day schedule.

Fashion fever catches up fast in Bollywood!
From quite sometime we have been observing Bollywood Baadshah Shah Rukh Khan carrying a new style statement – a kaifiyeh scarf wrapped up around his neck. And he seems to be so-much-so obsessed with it that almost at every public appearance he makes, we can see King Khan in a new scarf.
Now it looks like Bollywood’s cool dude Shahid Kapur is highly inspired by SRK’s style. Recently the young lad Shahid at DOSTANA fame director Tarun Mansukhani’s birthday bash, where he came along with his supposed-to-be girlfriend Priyanka Chopra, was spotted wearing a multicoloured scarf. And it was not only Shahid who came in scarf but his girlfriend Priyanka also accompanied him in a garish looking scarf around her neck.
The star-studded Tarun’s birthday party also included couple Farah Khan and Shirish Kunder, Ritesh Deshmukh in his INDIA 24/7 look, Bobby Deol – who preferred to stay away from media, Manish Malhotra – who walked in with a friend and DOSTANA producer Karan Johar, Priyanka Chopra and Shahid Kapoor walked in the last hand-in-hand.

New Delhi, April 20 (IANS) Actor-director Rohit Roy is all set to step into Amitabh Bachchan’s shoes for the Bengali adaptation of 1973 hit film ‘Abhimaan’, best remembered for its songs like ‘Teri bindiya re’ and superlative performances by the Big B and Jaya Bachchan.
‘I’m doing a major project called ‘Pa Ma Ga Re Sa’, which is a modern musical love story. It will be my first Bengali film and it is special because it is based on ‘Abhimaan’. It is basically an adaptation of the film,’ Rohit told IANS over phone from Mumbai.
‘The film has Gauri Karnik, who was seen in ‘Sur’ before. And former Miss India (Earth) Reshmi Ghosh will be seen as the other woman. It is being directed by Surajit Dhar,’ he added.
The first schedule of the film has already been shot and Rohit, who has recently stepped in as the host of the third season of TV dance reality show ‘Jhalak Dikkhla Jaa’, will soon head to Kolkata to shoot a few more scenes of it.
Rohit has joined ‘Jhalak…’ midway and is co-hosting the show with TV actress Shweta Tiwari.
‘This show is very close to my heart. I watched the first season, hosted the second and now I’m hosting the third mid-way. I think even the producers have grown to like me and I’m really excited to be back on the host’s seat,’ he said.
On the Bollywood front, the actor has a bouquet of films like ‘Mittal Vs Mittal’, ‘Apartment’ and ‘Alibaug’ in his kitty. And the actor, who had made his first stint with the arclights with popular TV show ‘Swabhimaan’, is excited about essaying different roles in each of these movies.
‘In ‘Mittal Vs Mittal’, I’m playing an abusive husband to Rituparna Sengupta, in Jagmohan Mundra’s ‘Apartment’, I’m playing a very jovial, guy-next-door sort of a role and in ‘Alibaug’, my role is of a doctor who cheats on his wife. As an actor, I can’t draw a line and decide a set kind of roles that I want to do, I have to be diverse and I am enjoying doing it,’ said Rohit, who also featured in hit film ‘Shootout At Lokhandwala’.
Besides this, he is also toying with the idea of scripting his next directorial venture, which will be a remake of Basu Chatterjee’s 1981 classic ‘Shaukeen’.
Chatterjee’s film, about the adventures of three old men in Goa, starred Ashok Kumar, Utpal Dutt and A.K. Hangal, but Rohit’s ‘grand wishlist’ for the cast of his ‘glamorous’ version of the film includes Rishi Kapoor, Naseeruddin Shah and Boman Irani.
‘We are trying to finish the scripting of this mad comedy. Though the idea of the film will be based on ‘Shaukeen’, the reason for their adventures would change and the setting would be more glamorous – maybe they would go to Las Vegas instead of Goa.
‘As for the cast, I hope these people in my wish list would want to work in the film after hearing the script,’ said Rohit.

Bollywood actor Sharman Joshi is shooting for ‘Three Idiots’, based on Chetan Bhagat’s bestseller ‘Five Point Someone’, and says he has stuck a ’special chord’ of camaraderie with the author.
‘Chetan and I have become very good friends. We like each other so much that I got to read his third and most-awaited book ‘Three Mistakes of My Life’ in the manuscript form even before it was released in the market,’ Sharman told IANS.

LIFE PARTNER was one of the first films this year to have blocked 1st May as its date of arrival. This Abbas-Mustan production was all set to release on this date before producers v/s multiplexes strike proved to be a spanner in the plan. No wonder, Tusshar Kapoor, the leading man in the film, is mighty disappointed that 1st May release is out of question now. Riding high on the success of GOLMAAL RETURNS, he is also unhappy about the postponement of his film because traditionally the month of May has proven to be lucky for him throughout his career.
“Call it superstition but I am just stating facts. MUJHE KUCH KEHNA HAI, KYA KOOL HAI HUM and SHOOTOUT AT LOKHANDWALA were all released in the month of May and we all are aware about their box office results. I was eagerly waiting for LIFE PARTNER to arrive around the same time as well”, says Tusshar who has seen a steady escalation in his career over the years gone by.
He is guarded though about the release of LIFE PARTNER which could now see a July arrival. “July should be good as well but then there are so many other films too that would all come in a heap in June/July. In any case, you can’t think much around such problems. There are weeks when multiple films arrive while there others when even a solo release doesn’t work. Ultimately, a film is as big as its script.”
He further goes on to philosophize. “Har film ka ek naseeb hota hai. If we look at LIFE PARTNER now or any other film for that matter which is ready, we are not even in a position to decide upon the final release date. It’s a wait and watch situation for now.”

The petite Anjana Sukhani considers JASHN to be one of the biggest films of her career after SALAAM-E-ISHQ and GOLMAAL RETURNS.
Well, the others were just multi-starrers where she was kind of hanging around like the funny show piece in GOLMAAL RETURNS and the married Anil Kapoor’s younger girlfriend in SALAAM-E-ISHQ. But here in JASHN she says she has a performance oriented role.
So JASHN could very well be her biggest ever film till date.
Anjana says, “I can stand up and say that JASHN is very close to my heart. There is a definite reason behind me saying that. Being so involved with the film for last few months, I have come to realize that I can relate to it at numerous junctures. Yes, there are some moments where the character is not the real me but then there are some strong emotional chords that JASHN touches, which makes it all so believable.”
Well, this lass is not worried about the fact that she’s been romantically paired with a much younger hero, Adhyayan Suman in the film. Maybe the fact that Adhyayan’s girlfriend Kangna recommended her for the film has given her that confidence.
She adds, “There are moments in your life which do get reflected in the situation that the character goes through. This is what happened to me as well. I experienced emotions that were pent up within me but came out quite strongly when I was enacting this character. They may have stayed on at a superficial level had I not acted in the film but after working under Bhatt saab’s patronage in JASHN, I am glad I could find my own self in the film.”
Ummm… we can very well understand Anjana’s sentiments. But we need to remind her that the movie also has Shahana Goswami who might not look as pretty as her, but is a good actress who left a mark in ROCK ON and FIRAAQ.
Now there was also talk about the director duo Raksha Mistry and Hasnain Hyderabadwaala not doing their job well and producer Mahesh Bhatt coming in to help things out.
Anjana talks about the same: “His presence on the sets helped because he has his own way of moulding his actors. He turns you into something else and I can confidently say that together the entire team of JASHN has come up with a superlative effort. My career has just begun but I can proudly say that JASHN is one of my benchmark films. It will have to be some really powerful script and some very good acting by me to beat the work that has gone into making JASHN.”
We think she needs to enjoy the JASHN as much as she can. Because her other forthcoming releases too like ALLAH KE BANDAY and TUM MILO TOH SAHI don’t look promising either much like JAI VEERU, SUNDAY and the rest She must make hay while the sun shines.

Mumbai, April 8 (IANS) ‘Aamir’ director Rajkumar Gupta’s next film is based on the sensational Jessica Lal murder and he approached Kareena Kapoor to play one of the two protagonists. But so far he hasn’t been able to finalise anyone for the lead roles in ‘No One Killed Jessica’.
‘I did approach Kareena Kapoor initially to play one of the two protagonists. But nothing more can be said about the casting right now,’ Gupta told IANS.
Jessica Lal was gunned down in a New Delhi restaurant in April 1999. Manu Sharma, son of a former minister, is serving a life term for killing her.
‘All I can say at this moment is that the film and its script which I’ve just completed is inspired by a headline that I saw in the Times Of India in 2006 which said, ‘No One Killed Jessica’ (when all the accused in the sensational case were acquitted). It immediately set me thinking. Over the years, as the case dragged on, that headline acquired immense ironical overtones,’ he added
‘No One Killed Jessica’ will need two leading female performers – one will play Jessica and the other will be cast as her sister Sabrina who fought for justice on Jessica’s behalf.
The director, whose edgy hard-hitting drama ‘Aamir’ earned rave reviews in 2007, intends to give the same gritty treatment to his second film as well.
Apart from ‘No One Killed Jessica’, Gupta had also written the script of recently released ‘Barah Aana’.
Though Gupta is all for the way first time director Raja Menon had directed his script, he admits he would have filmed the script differently.
‘I’d have made ‘Barah Aana’ edgier, more gritty and fast-paced. That’s the treatment I had envisaged for the screenplay.
‘Also, it isn’t clear in the film why Naseeruddin Shah’s character doesn’t speak. He just looks angry. The fact is the character has nothing more to say to the world. This aspect doesn’t come across in the film,’ Gupta said.
Gupta also feels that Arjun Mathur is miscast as a Bihari waiter in ‘Barah Aana’.
‘I’d have cast someone like Deepak Dobriyal. But that’s neither here nor there. ‘Barah Aana’ is fine the way it is,’ he said.
Would Gupta write more scripts for other directors?
‘I don’t know. ‘Barah Aana’ was a commitment from before I directed ‘Aamir’. Right now my concentration is on casting for ‘No One Killed Jessica’. I just hope I don’t end up casting whoever is available. I need two very strong young actresses.’

Akshay Kapoor was detained at the London airport for literally five hours!!
The actor was on his way to Scotland via London to shoot for Vikram Bhatt’s THREE wherein he stars with Aashish Chowdhry and Nausheen Ali Sardar.
We hear that due to some miscommunication, he got held up by the London airport authorities and was interrogated for quite a while until he was recognized by a fan as a Bollywood Actor!
Well, what was to happen after that…All hell broke lose when everyone at the airport started crowding around and started clicking pictures with Akshay and asking for autographs!
“I told them I was here for a film project and there were some visa formalities that had to be sorted out. I was completely taken by surprise at the crowds’ reaction!” said the actor smilingly.
So much for being a potential suspect we say!!

After seeing the rushes of their film, the makers of upcoming film WAKE UP SID, Dharma Productions felt that their lead actress Konkona Sen Sharma wasn’t looking her best (read appeared fat). They immediately conveyed this to Konkona in polite words and requested her for a re-shoot of all these portions.
Though this would have lead to additional production costs but they were completely ready for it. But Koko reacted quite weirdly to this. She hit her furious foot down declaring, “This is what I am and this is what you shall get!”
Director Ayaan Mukherjee (Rani’s cousin) had no option but to move on to the next schedule. Unit insiders claim, Konkona was signed on for the project as the script demanded an ordinary looking girl who was a perfect contrast to the film’s lead actor Ranbir Kapoor. So one wonders why the makers were creating a fuss about it all now.

Katrina Kaif is the next to join this esteemed line up.”
Not only the industry but also kids all over are eagerly waiting for Katrina’s all new attractive Indian Barbie doll .Katrina loves kids as much as kids love her. She recently paid a visit to the poor rag pickers of Dharavi through an NGO (ACORN FOUNDATION). ”The slum kids enjoyed meeting her and they danced and sung along with her. The kids also showed her paintings and handicrafts specially made by them and Katrina couldn’t stop raving about their talent. Katrina spoke to the children at length and encouraged them to follow their dreams. Just like she has followed hers.” The source concludes.
Dreams obviously have come true for Katrina. Bollywood can’t get enough of Kat. She is on a roll with back to back big films releasing this year. Katrina Kaif is no longer the ‘politically correct’ belle. Instead, she has no qualms in openly comparing mentor-turned-boyfriend Salman Khan to his rival Shahrukh Khan.
“Salman is unpredictable, while Shahrukh is intelligent, and Akshay is a blast,” said Kats in a recent interview.
“Salman always does things that he feels right and only he knows why he feels that particular thing is right…you can’t track his mood. As for me, I really don’t get into those things nor spend too much time trying to understand him because the entire process is too lengthy and complicated.”
Talking of the Khiladi Kumar, Kats said: “Akshay (Kumar) is not a stuck up old man…he is a blast and his energy level is more than mine.
“I also enjoy Ranbir’s (Kapoor’s) company…he is so very funny. I find John (Abraham) funny too…not for what he says, but how he says, he speaks English in a very funny way,” Kats said.

When 8×10 TASVEER would be releasing this Friday it would be one more addition in the vast repertoire of Hindi films, which have used photographs as the linking element for continuity of the film. Hindi films from quite a long time have reverted back to photographs and have used as a continuity of narrative, building up to an exciting climax.
In view of the interest that is being generated in using photographs as a base for construction of history photographs have indeed risen into eminence as a vital tool for construction of history, all over the world, and in India as well. It would not be out of context to inform that Asit Sen the comedian of yester years had a famous photography studio in Gorakhpur, in UP. Lets then rewind to the world of photographs.
COOLIE: Manmohan Desai was indeed one of the futurists who had the vision to understand its importance and he used it with panache in this film. The romance of Rishi Kapoor and Shoma Anand when it blossomed in the adulthood was on account of the pieces of a snap that both of them had from their childhood. The reference to it was in fact made in the song as well “Tasveer ka ek tukda tera paas hai aur ek mere pass”.
NASEEB: Manmohan Desai again returned back to the importance of photograph as the element to bring about a turn in the flow of the movie and he did it again in NASEEB. When Amjad Khan on the verge of death handed over the photograph of Pran’s innocence to Rishi Kapoor it culminated in the climax of the film.
JAANE BHI DO YAARON: One of the biggest laugh riots ever produced by the Hindi cinema, it brought out in distinct relief what important role a photographer can ply in the day-to-day life, more so if it is political life.
TRIDEV: Director Rajiv Rai had Shekhar Suman in the role of a photographer who was killed in the film as he had become privy through his camera to a discussion that had brought the existence of Amrish Puri into question
.
GARAM MASALA: John Abraham and Akshay Kumar starrer film tried to explore the world of fashion photography in a humorous manner, but in a subtle manner also commented on the nature of job that fashion photographers handle these days.
DELHI 6: The character of Cyrus Sahukar as a photographer in this film again went on to underline the dubious halo that photographers have come to associate with their image.
GHAJINI: Aamir Khan’s mega hit film again revolved around construction of the past based on the photographs that he used to click; it was a sort of reconstructing the history of self through the photographs.
AA DEKHEN ZARA: Neil Nitin Mukesh and Bipasha Basu starrer film took on its own after discovery of a camera by Neil in the movie.
