Shah Rukh Khan’s house attacked
Two motorcycle-borne miscreants hurled a bottle of kerosene at actor Shah Rukh Khan’s Bandra residence, Mannat, at around 2.30 am on Friday. Nobody was injured.
Security personnel at Khan’s bungalow were unable to note the registration number of the bike in the darkness. A complaint was lodged at the Bandra police station.
According to reports, a fundamentalist group was upset with the use of certain words in the song, Marjaani, marjaani, featuring Khan and Kareena Kapoor in the film Billu.
On Friday morning a group of protesters gathered outside Bandra’s G-7 cinema complex, where Billu was being screened, and broke glass panes and tore away posters.

The film titled Akasharamanna starring Naresh, Shivaji, Rajiv Kanakala, Meera Jasmine and Gouri Pandit is being produced by Manyam Ramesh and directed by Ashok.
This film is a full length comedy and has completed its shooting with canning a special song at the Ramoji Film City with Madhu Sharma as the item girl.
The star cast includes Naga Babu, Venumadhav, Rao Ramesh, Raghu Babu, MS Narayana, Rajesh, Venu, Sana, Geetha Singh and others.
Post-production work is in progress and the film will be released soon.

The board of fraud-hit Satyam Computer Services Ltd will decide on a long-term action plan, including a possible sale, in the next 7 to 10 days, its chairman said on Monday.
Kiran Karnik, who was last week appointed by the government as the chairman of the Satyam board, told Reuters a clear picture would be available by the middle of next week.
Satyam has been battling for survival after founder and former chairman Ramalinga Raju disclosed last month that profits had been overstated for years in the country’s biggest corporate scandal.
The fund-starved outsourcer firm, whose clients include General Electric and Coca Cola, has borrowed 6 billion rupees ($123 million) from banks to meet short-term capital needs.
“Now the short-term crisis has been taken care of. Once the fire-fighting is over, everybody is curious to know where things are moving,” Karnik said.
“We will chart out a long-term roadmap in the next 7 to 10 days and make a recommendation to the government that may include all possibilities. The government has to decide.”
“Things will be clearer by the middle of next week.”
Top engineering firm Larsen & Toubro controls about 12 percent of Satyam and has not ruled out raising its stake, while diversified Indian business houses Spice Group and Hinduja Group have also shown interest.
The board has appointed Goldman Sachs and another Indian investment bank to find a strategic bidder for the company.
The Economic Times newspaper said earlier on Monday Satyam would trim its sales staff in overseas locations to help cut costs and to repay debts to creditors, but Karnik said they were not in a hurry to shed workforce.
“We are not in a hurry (to trim employees count). We’ll have to look at it,” he said. “Obviously there is a financial crisis. Cost-control measures are being taken.”

Fraud-hit Satyam Computer will trim its sales staff in overseas locations to help cut costs and to repay debts to creditors, the Economic Times said on Monday, citing a Satyam official.
“We are looking at rationalising employees who provide pre and post-sales services onsite as part of the cost-rationalisation exercise,” Hari Thalapalli, Satyam’s global head of marketing and communication, was quoted as saying in the report.
Satyam has been battling for its survival after founder and former chairman Ramalinga Raju disclosed last month that profits had been overstated for years. The fund-starved firm has borrowed from banks to meet short-term capital requirement.
The newspaper quoted Thalapalli as saying that the cutting of its sales force overseas was “imminent”, given the current state of Satyam and the company was not planning to hire the fresh graduates it had offered jobs a year earlier.
About 10,000 employees provide onsite services to clients, the Economic Times said.
When contacted by Reuters, Thalapalli said the company’s focus was on cost rationalisation, rather than volume rationalisation but he declined further comment.
“At this stage, I cannot comment. The task force will look at it,” he told Reuters.
Separately, the Financial Express newspaper said insurance major Assurant and the world’s largest credit card network Visa Inc had ended contracts with Satyam, but a Satyam spokeswoman told Reuters she could not confirm this.
“At this point, that’s not true,” she said, when asked to comment on the report on Assurant and Visa businesses.
Zensar Technologies Ltd, which has been working with Assurant, has secured Satyam’s part of the contract, the report quoted an unnamed industry source as saying and estimated the total contract with Zensar was worth $10 million over two years.
In January, State Farm Insurance Co terminated its contract with Satyam.
