Bhopal, Aug 22 (ANI): With eve teasing becoming the order of the day, a growing number of girls in are resorting to martial arts for self defence.
Students of Sarojini Naidu College are attending 10 days self-defence training camp organised especially for girls, which began on August 17.
According to organizers the camp is aimed at motivating girls to learn basic techniques of martial arts.
The camp is being held under the banner of “Mission Prahar” a forum to prepare women in self-defence techniques.
Girls in the camp say their confidence level has risen after attending the training session.
“The situation is not so favorable for girls today. Girls want to be independent and they are opting professions where they have to work even late nights. Eve teasing has become common and there are increasing incidents of rape. We have to be strong ourselves and learn to protect ourselves rather than waiting for somebody else to protect us,” said Shivangi Sharma.
According to Deepak Dubey, the founder of “Mission Prahar” and trainer “My main motive is to put confidence in them. If somebody attacks them with knife or any other thing, they should be confident enough to protect themselves. No matter if they know Martial Arts, Kung Fu or Karate, but if they are scared and can’t defend themselves, learning these arts is useless. I want to instill courage in them.”
These workshops go a long way in helping women emerge confident to combat any form of attack. (ANI)

Washington, Aug 14 (ANI): Kanye West’s girlfriend Amber Rose insists she has no qualms about being dubbed a “bisexual freak stripper” because she has nothing to be ashamed of.
The model, who has rekindled her relationship with the hip-hop star after briefly splitting from him in February, insists she has always been.
The 26-year-old beauty insists she was always open with Kanye, 32, about her unconventional past.
“Yeah, they label me a bisexual freak stripper that f**ks Kanye on a daily basis. You know, ‘Amber Rose, the f***ing bisexual, dyke, freak, whatever the f**k.’ To answer that, I’m extremely open with my sexuality. I can be in love with a woman, I can be in love with a man,” Contactmusic quoted her as telling Complex magazine.
“Kanye knew my life, so when it was, ‘Oh Kanye, do you know she was a stripper, that she used to date girls?’ he was like, ‘Tell me something I don’t know!’ ” she added. (ANI)

Hoping that the Fit Bong girl, Koena makes a bigger mark for herself in the Indian Film Industry and achieves her wish to do some power packed action roles in the future.

London, Mar 7 (ANI): David Beckham has finally sealed his dream move to AC Milan, and the first thing he did to celebrate the event was to call his wife Victoria up and say “Ciao Bella”.
As part of the new deal, Goldenballs will stay in Italy until the end of the season, while Victoria will remain in Los Angeles with the couple’s three children.
“Victoria was over the moon. She knows how important AC Milan is to him and fully supports his decision. It will be tough with him being apart from the family for periods of time but they are stronger than ever,” the Mirror quoted a source as saying.
The insider added: “They are like two teenagers in love who can’t wait to see each other whenever they get the chance. Victoria thinks it is like how they were when they first starting dating.”
And under a unique “timeshare” agreement, the 33-year-old footballer will stay with the Italian giants until the end of the season, and then will play for LA Galaxy between July and October.
After that Beckham will return to Milan in November for the rest of the following season.
Earlier the former ‘Spice Girl’ wasn’t supporting her husband’s full-time transfer to Milan as she didn’t want to shift base to Italy with her kids, but later the pair talked over the issue and Posh finally gave a nod for the move.
And now Becks’ agent Simon Fuller, the man behind the Spice Girls – helped broker a deal which has suited them both.
“The children will stay in LA with Victoria so that their schooling is not disrupted,” Fuller said while speaking at the Prince’s Trust Ball.
“No one considered the possibility of him playing for both teams before, but because I’m not part of the football industry I can see that more things are possible. I’m not so constrained by what has gone before. Sometimes I’m not even aware of what’s gone before.
“I am not just coming in and shaking things up for their own sake. I want to make things better. If people don’t like it, that’s their problem,” Fuller added.
The deal comes after weeks of negotiations between the two clubs, and now Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has said that an official announcement was imminent. (ANI)

London, Mar 7 (ANI): English footballer Ashley Cole has protested claims that he chatted to a blonde bombshell, and was then arrested for drunk and disorderly behaviour at a top restaurant.
Cole, 28, who wanted to prove his innocence, ordered his people to track down the lady in question so as to prove that he did not misbehave with her.
“They had never met before and he has instructed his representatives to track her down to prove he didn’t do anything wrong. He insists nothing went on and apparently the girl also says it was entirely innocent. She is very credible and is backing his story,” the Mirror quoted a source as saying.
Lawyers have reportedly flown the woman out of the country.
The Chelsea player is already in trouble after his wife Cheryl, 25, discovered that he had broken his solemn promise not to go drinking with teammates while she was away.
The Girls Aloud singer is said to have given him a piece of her mind on March 5 when she called him up from Tanzania, where she is climbing Mount Kilimanjaro with eight other celebs for Comic Relief.
“It’s been really hard physically and mentally, but I haven’t once thought of giving up,” Cheryl, who has struggled with altitude sickness, said. (ANI)

Washington, Mar 6 (ANI): Partygoers at a recent bash at the Playboy mansion have claimed that they were shocked to see Hugh Hefner looking as if “he had aged 10 years in the last month.”
The Playboy mogul made a brief appearance at the Annual Kandyland Masquerade Ball at the iconic Mansion on February 28, but those attending the party claim that despite being surrounded by his girls, Hefner looked far from his normally alert and healthy self.
“He looked so old, like he had aged 10 years in the last month and was barely moving,” Fox News quoted a source as saying.
The source also said that the 83-year-old tycoon’s new number one Crystal held his hand, and assisted him as she “slowly shuffled” along.
And, meanwhile, his other lovers (the 19-year-old Shannon twins) marched ahead of the bunny brigade and revelled in the limelight.
Last year, Hefner said: “I have some aches and pains and I have had lower back problems since the ’80s. Too much time in bed rustling around with friends.”
However, many have claimed that the octogenarian multi-millionaire’s recent break ups with ‘Girls Next Door’ stars-Holly Madison, Kendra Wilkinson and Bridget Marquardt-have taken a toll on his health.
“Things aren’t quite the same since Holly and the girls left. Hef loves all the new ones, but I think the transition really took its toll,” said the insider.
However, Hefner’s representatives dismissed reports of any health problems, saying: “Hef is perfectly fine. In the last three weeks, Hef has traveled to Italy to be a featured guest at the Sanremo Music Festival, attended the Playboy Jazz Festival press conference and hosted his usual weekend movie night events. He hasn’t missed a day of work or an hour of partying and he’s better and busier than ever. Party guests are misinformed.” (ANI)

Pune, Mar 5 (ANI): Harleen Chopra of the Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) created history today by becoming the first-ever Indian woman cadet to command a passing out parade in Pune.
Chopra, a medical cadet, commanded the parade of 103 graduates who would be commissioned into the Armed Forces Medical Services.
“Basically it is an honour and a privilege to be doing this in my college. I once again thank all those who were responsible for guiding me throughout this process,” said Chopra.
Lieutenant General Yogendra Singh, Director General, Armed Forces Medical Services, the chief guest at the event said that Chopra has become an example for other girls to follow.
“This has become history and other girls will try to emulate such feats,” Singh said. (ANI)

Washington, Mar 5 (ANI): After moving out from the Playboy mansion and her subsequent split with beau Criss Angel, Holly Madison is now all set to appear on the new season of ‘Dancing With the Stars’, according to Bridget Marquardt.
Appearing on Fox’s Web talk show ‘The Strategy Room’, Marquardt announced that her former ‘Girls Next Door’ co-star was set to fulfil a long-time dream to be on DWTS.
Marquardt revealed that Madison could not appear on the show earlier due to scheduling issues, and because her ex-beau Hugh Hefner did not want her to be part of the programme.
“I’m so excited for her. She’s wanted to do it for so long, it just never worked with her schedule and Hef was always like ‘I don’t want you to do that,’ and now it’s her time, so I’m really happy for her,” Fox News quoted Marquardt as saying.
Marquardt said that Madison would be seen in the March 9 episode of DWTS, and was looking forward to her appearance on the show.
Madison recently split with magician Criss Angel, whom she began dating after walking out on Playboy mogul Hefner.(ANI)

London, March 4 (ANI): Beyonce Knowles could not help feel flattered after being told by the First Lady Michelle Obama that she was a role model for her daughters.
The R and B queen revealed that the US President’s wife had come up to her a day earlier than her performance at one of the inauguration balls.
The 27-year-old was told that both Obama girls, Malia, ten, and Sasha, seven, had a fitting role model to look up to.
“She told me that she was very happy that her children had an artist like myself and – I don’t even feel right saying this – she said she was happy they had me to look up to,” the Sun quoted Beyonce as saying. (ANI)

London, March 2 (ANI): Veteran Scottish pop star Lulu, 60, has slammed the music industry for exploiting present-day singers as sex symbols.
She said that young female artists were being forced to dress in sexy outfits and perform provocative acts.
She blasted industry bosses saying that semi-naked routines-like those performed by the Pussycat Dolls, Katy Perry and Girls Aloud-had become more important for them than the music itself.
“Young girls today have to straddle naked before they can get noticed. It’s cheapened the music and I think it is exploitative. I would never have stripped off like that and gyrated up and down a pole,” the Scotsman quoted her as saying.
“There are talented kids who don’t need to do that, but it is just expected of them. It’s so regressive. I feel bad for them.
“To be a singer, you have to be naked and do things with your body and men on video. What has that got to do with the music?” she added.
Lulu also criticised the competitive nature of the modern pop industry, saying that talent alone was no longer enough to be successful.
“I would not want to be launching a career now. Nowadays, you have to achieve world domination or you get dropped by the record company. If the first single’s not a hit, you’re out.
Today, to be successful, it is not enough to be a good singer. You have to have an army of people all focusing on that goal relentlessly,” said the singer, who achieved stardom after her hit ‘Shout’ reached the Number 1 spot in the charts, when she was just 15 years old.
“You don’t just have to have talent and appeal. There has to be a big strategy.
“You have to be able to hold your head together, because the celebrity thing is completely out of whack. I think it’s crazy,” she added.
Lulu revealed that she loved listening to the music produced by Pink, Christina Aguilera, Duffy, Alexandra Burke and Amy Winehouse.
“I love Duffy and Alexandra Burke who just won the X-Factor. They are really talented. I’m an Amy Winehouse fan – she’s a great writer. She reminds me of the Ronettes,” she said.
She, however, also revealed that she did not like the current pop culture.
“It’s like a McDonald’s world. Everything is instant – instant success and instantly disposable,” said the Glasgow-born singer.
“Even when it was really crazy in the 1960s, it wasn’t like it is now. It is beyond insane.”
“Everybody is a celebrity. There is nobody to aspire to be. Everybody is famous and everybody is documenting every time they breathe, spit, cough or close their eyes.
“No wonder the music business doesn’t mean much any more. Then, there was a mystique about things,” she added. (ANI)

London, Mar 1 (ANI): Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson have sparked marriage rumours after the two were spotted visiting a London synagogue, famous for its liberal views on marriage.
The couple is said to have got engaged last year (08), after Ronson reportedly told a crowd in a Los Angeles nightclub about their wedding plans, reports the Daily Express.
And now the pair has been photographed entering a Jewish place of worship in London together.
The ‘Mean Girls’ star and Ronson were seen visiting the Westminster Synagogue, in the city’s exclusive Knightsbridge area.
Lohan and Ronson have been dating since 2008.
The 22-year-old actress was raised a Catholic, while the 31-year-old DJ is from a Jewish family. (ANI)

New York, Mar 1 (ANI): After Octomom, a new mother has arrived – please give it up for – “Womber” Woman!
A 21-year-old Michigan mom with two uteruses has given birth to twins, one from each womb – an astounding 1-in-5 million feat, reports The New York Post.
Sarah Reinfelder has an extremely rare condition called uterus didelphys.nd she gave birth to girls Thursday, the Mining Journal of Michigan reported.
The girls, Kaylin and Valerie, born seven weeks premature, were delivered via Cesarean section.
And weighed 3 pounds, 15 ounces and 4 pounds, 15 ounces.
Docs said that the newborns will be staying in the hospital for three or four weeks as their lungs fully develop.

London, Feb 27 (ANI): American actress Kate Bosworth is all set to take up a producer role in a new movie.
Bosworth, 26, is getting ready to make a big screen adaptation of a Catherine Hanrahan novel, and is very enthusiastic about the whole project she will be producing.
“I bought the rights to a book called Lost Girls and Love Hotels, and I’ve just had a wonderful writer adapt it,” the Daily Express quoted her as telling the New York Daily News.
“Now we’re in the stage of finding a director and building it up from the ground up. It’s a lot of work but we’re going to do it,” she added.
The movie is slated to hit theatres in 2010. (ANI)

Washington, Feb 27 (ANI): Kendra Wilkinson might have moved out of Hugh Hefner’s life and his mansion, but she has still not cut off all her ties with her ‘Playboy’ life.
The blonde beauty visited the famous ‘Playboy Club’ at the Palms Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas on February 24 to host February’s ‘Playboy Club Model Search’.
And the former ‘Girls Next Door’ star was actually bringing in her bunny association in her E! reality spin-off show as well.
Her crew spotted filming her at the popular club, and also as she dined with her Playmate pals at Simon Palms Place.
In fact, the 23-year-old star stayed in the Hugh Hefner Sky Villa in the fantasy tower, reports Fox News.

London, Feb 27 (ANI): Actress Anna Friel is all set to go topless in new film ‘Bathory’, wherein she plays legendary Countess Elizabeth Bathory, the most notorious female serial killer in history.
The ‘Pushing Daisies’ star will take up the role of Bathory, who is known as the murderess with the biggest ever body count.
She was accused of torturing and killing hundreds of girls and young women following her husband’s death.
Although she reportedly boasts a victim count of 600, she was only convicted on 80 counts.
Anna grabbed the role after ‘The Faculty’ star Famke Janssen couldn’t play the part and dropped out.
It was the script that lured Friel to the role, and she sent the director a letter convincing him to cast her. (ANI)

Washington, Feb 26 (ANI): Troubled actress Lindsay Lohan has been chosen by actor Warren Beatty to star in a new movie.
But to get the role, Lohan would have to stay at his place as his guest as he shoots the movie, reports Fox News.
The role would give the Mean Girls star a chance to re-start her languishing career, which has not been in too good a shape lately.
The clause, for her to stay at Beatty’s place, will definitely ensure that she gets to the set on time, a fact that has never been popular with Lohan before. (ANI)

Washington, Feb 26 (ANI): Hugh Hefner’s ex-girlfriend Holly Madison has split up from illusionist Criss Angel.
It was last year that the couple got together after Madison walked out on the Playboy mogul and moved out of his mansion.
However, according to reports, the 29-year-old Girls Next Door star has now ended her brief romance with Angel.
“She was very much in love with him (Angel) and they’re still very close friends. But it was a conflict of schedules. She felt she couldn’t devote 100 per cent of her time to him in Vegas, at the expense of her own career and her goals,” Contactmusic quoted a source close to Madison as saying.
The 41-year-old magician has previously been romantically linked to Cameron Diaz, Minnie Driver and Paris Hilton. (ANI)

Mingora, Feb. 23 (ANI): All boys’ and some girls’ schools reopened in the Swat valley on Monday following a permanent ceasefire between the Pakistan Government and Taliban, but only forty percent students turned up amid security fears. Only 40 per cent of students showed up for school. This is because of the recent (unstable) situation. Another reason is that many families are still frightened and thousands more left the valley because of the fighting,” said Ziauddin Yusufzai, the spokesman for the private schools association.
All boys’ schools formally reopened on Monday, one week earlier than the scheduled start of term after the long winter holiday, The Dawn reports.
In government-run girls’ schools, only the primary section up to the fourth grade opened. But all private girls’ schools reopened, Yusufzai said.
“Girls attended classes veiled after militant leader Maulana Fazlullah announced on his illegal radio station that girls could take examinations, but only after covering themselves according to sharia,” local residents said.
After bombing 191 schools in Swat, including 122 girls’ schools, Taliban had said that girls could go to school only under the practice of total separation from men and boys.
Swat education ministry official Sher Afzal said, “We have sent proposals to the government to rebuild the schools, which will cost around 800 million rupees.”
Most private schools in Swat are concentrated in and around the main town Mingora.
Meanwhile, in a bid to counter terrorism in North West frontier Province (NWFP), Pakistani authorities have handed over 30,000 assault rifles among villagers under a plan to raise an elite police force.
NWFP Chief Minister Amir Haider Khan Hoti said the elite force was being set-up to fight growing terror and restore governance in the state.

Washington, Feb 23 (ANI): Actress Sienna Miller has vowed never to go under the knife to enhance her looks.
The Factory Girl slammed the beauty-obsessed culture in Los Angeles, and expressed her shock at the lengths some women go to just to stay looking young.
The 27-year-old star said that she was determined to grow old gracefully.
“I found myself thinking, ‘I’m getting wrinkles and things are wobbling – I should go to the gym’. Then I was like, ‘No way.’ It’s not where the focus should be right now,” Contactmusic quoted her as saying.
“Girls in L.A. are having pre-emptive Botox. Let people be young and then old. I can’t wait to be seen as a woman,” she added. (ANI)

Washington, Feb 21 (ANI): Hugh Hefner’s ex-girlfriend Kendra Wilkinson has said that she is trying to keep a low profile because she has been irritated by the prying media eye since her split with the Playboy Mogul, and the subsequent engagement with Hank Baskett.
The former ‘Girls Next Door’ star said that security scares and prying packs of paparazzi forced her out of the Hollywood heat.
Speaking at the Silverspoon Oscars House, the 23-year-old bride-to-be said that though she was excited for her June wedding with Baskett, she was trying to lay as low as possible.
“I’ve had to move to the Valley to get away from it. Being followed like that is really scary,” Fox News quoted her as saying.
However, many photo agencies have revealed that ever since Hefner’s three top girlfriends-Holly Madison, Wilkinson, Bridget Marquardt-have walked out on him, their picture value has dropped significantly.
But Kendra still sells the highest of them all.
On the other hand, the busty beauty has claimed that she has no regrets about leaving Playboy, and is the happiest she’s ever been.
She also said that her octogenarian ex, and the other two Palyboy bunnies, were still her “best friends.” (ANI)
