At the age of fourteen she was approached by an agent and she began modeling; her first job was for a jewelry campaign. She continued modeling in London, under a contract with the Models Agency and did campaigns for houses, such as La Senza and Arcadius and even walked on the London Fashion Week.
Kaif’s London modeling-work led her to discover by London-based filmmaker Kaizad Gustad, who gave her a part in his film Boom (2003). She moved to Mumbai and was offered a number of modeling assignments. However, filmmakers were initially hesitant to sign her because she could not speak Hindi.
Kaif saw success with the 2005 film Sarkar where she played the bit part of Abhishek Bachchan’s girlfriend. Her next release, Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya (2005), where she was paired opposite Salman Khan, earned her the Stardust Breakthrough Performance Award.

Wake Up Sid! is a forthcoming Hindi romantic comedy film that stars Konkona Sen Sharma and Ranbir Kapoor in the lead roles. Produced under Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, distributed by UTV Motion Pictures and directed by debutante Ayan Mukherji, who earlier was assistant director of Ashutosh Gowariker in Swades and Karan Johar in Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna. The movie is all set to hit the screens world wide on October 2, 2009.

Imran Khan: Imran Khan is an American-born Bollywood film star. Khan is the son of Anil Pal, a Bengali-American and Nuzhat Khan. Slumdog Millionaire is produced by England’s Film4 and Celador Films with a predominantly Indian cast and crew.
Priyadarshan, the director who experiments with different genres of films, is now planning to make film titled Grrr. He says that this film will have the swamps and jungles of Sunderbans and deals with man-eaters.
Priyadarshan says that he will touch many issues in the film and the film will be akin to Steven Spielberg’s Jaws. Amitabh Bachchan plays the role which is more like that of Jim Corbett, the hunter-naturalist who wrote The Man-eaters of Kumaon.
The shooting of the film is expected to start soon.
Director R Balki of Cheeni Kum fame will start shooting for the film Pa which will feature Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan and Vidya Balan. This film is being produced by AB Corporation.
The announcement of the film was made last year but delayed because of the illness of Amitabh and other commitments of Abhishek. Moreover, Tabu, who performed splendidly in Cheeni Kum, is supposed to be in the film, but for reasons unknown she skipped the role only to be replaced by Vidya Balan.
The film will start its first 25-day schedule on March 2 in Mumbai and then at other locales in North India and outside the country.

Himesh Reshammiya’s Kajra Re is said to have been stalled. According to sources, the film was not stuck because of some financial problems, but owing to the absence of some members of the cast.
Pakistani actress Monalizza acts in this film. She plays the role of a girl who disappears from Morocco and is found again in a red light area in Lahore. Himesh plays the lawyer who falls in love with her before her disappearance and he later traces her to Lahore.
Monalizza completed some parts of the film’s shooting and went back to Pakistan. After the 26/11 terror attacks in Mumbai, the stars from Pakistan who were working in films in India, including Mona, have not been granted visas.
Kajra Re will not be able to complete shooting until the return of Monalizza.
Akshay Kumar is slowly reaching the top rung in his career. Though his film Chandini Chowk to China flopped, his Kambhakt Ishq is expected to be big hit.
Akshay’s TV reality show Fear Factor Khatron Ke Khiladi was hugely popular getting high rating points. The total deal amount received by him for the show was Rs 120 crore.
Recently, Akshay agreed for the second edition of the reality show and he is charging Rs 150 crore. Since the channel knows that Akshay is the USP of the show, his contract has now been reworked. Akshay has also managed to get some equity in the channel.
Amitabh Bachchan on Wednesday went to the suburban Bandra residence of Shah Rukh Khan’s residence in Bandra, Mumbai and wished him speedy recovery from his shoulder surgery.
SRK underwent the surgery to repair the tear in the main muscle of his left shoulder at the Breach Candy hospital on February 16 and was discharged on Tuesday.
Earlier, Bachchan had a telephonic conversation with Khan during which he told the actor not to take the post- surgery period lightly and avoid any kind of activity.
